Examination Results

Examination results were released during the last two weeks of August. Headteacher Robert Davies was delighted with the performance of Pontllanfraith pupils:

"Congratulations to our GCSE students for the excellent results achieved by them this year. The vast majority of students either achieved or bettered their predicted grades. This is testimony to their hard work and the support provided by the staff in the school. I wish them well in the future in whatever they do. It was pleasing to see so many of our students enrolling for courses at Crosskeys College. They should be confident that they have received the best possible preparation at Pontllanfraith C.S. for the courses they will follow. Past pupils of our school were very successful in their A and AS level courses at the college. Rhys Fletcher, Ross Guthrie and Matthew Wood all gained 4 A levels at grade A, Ross being the top performing Physics student in the college. Megan Kennedy, Christopher Chamberlain, Manvir Grewal and Rebecca White all gained 4 AS levels at grade A, with Megan also achieving the top grade for A level Welsh"
